Foundation Lesson: Matthew 28:18
‘And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.’
*Jesus Christ has given the believers the authority/power over sickness, demons and diseases
*If we submit to God, we have the authority to resist the devil and he will flee
*We have the authority to change the circumstances in our lives
*God has given us the authority over the demonic realms–we need to use it!
*The source of our authority is Jesus Christ and all believers have access to it
*We must exercise our authority through faith in Jesus Christ
*Believers we do not have authority over other people!
*Authority is the right to act; Power is the ability to act as empowered by the Holy Spirit
*The Holy Spirit makes our actions powerful or effective – e.g. casting out demons
*Authority without power is meaningless!
